Industrial Climate Control Solutions
ECU Corporation designs and manufactures specialized environmental systems for a wide range of industrial applications. Our equipment is engineered for performance, efficiency, and durability in even the most demanding operating environments.
Environmental Control Units (ECUs) Our Environmental Control Units provide reliable heating and cooling for hard shelters, soft shelters (tents), vehicles, and fixed facilities. These versatile systems are built to maintain precise climate conditions and ensure occupant and equipment protection across varied industrial settings.
Air Conditioners We offer Direct Expansion (DX) air conditioning systems that deliver efficient and direct cooling to designated spaces through high-performance mechanical refrigeration—ideal for standalone temperature control or integrated HVAC networks.
Chiller Systems Our chiller solutions circulate chilled fluids—typically water or a water-glycol mixture—to downstream equipment such as air handling units, cold plates, or thermal exchange systems. These units are engineered for stable, high-capacity cooling in critical industrial processes.

Defense-Grade Engineering and Custom Solutions
In addition to our industrial product lines, ECU Corporation designs and manufactures specialized systems for military applications, engineered to perform in the most demanding environments and mission profiles.
Liquid-to-Air Heat Exchangers
Our liquid-to-air heat exchangers are essential for mobile radar and communication platforms, efficiently transferring excess heat from electronics via a liquid loop and dissipating it into the surrounding air. These systems are designed for compact, mobile applications with high thermal loads.
Liquid-to-Liquid Heat Exchangers
ECU’s liquid-to-liquid heat exchangers support critical systems including RADAR, ELINT, SIGINT, and Electronic Warfare (EW) platforms. These units manage internal heat by circulating cooling liquid within sealed enclosures—ensuring optimal thermal stability and equipment performance.
Mil-Spec Compliant HVAC Systems
ECU Corporation engineers and manufactures ruggedized HVAC systems that comply with strict Military Specifications (Mil-Spec), supporting a wide range of defense applications where performance, durability, and reliability are mission critical.
Our systems are built to meet or exceed requirements outlined in relevant military standards, including:
-
MIL-STD-810 for environmental testing (temperature extremes, vibration, dust, humidity, etc.)
-
MIL-STD-461 for electromagnetic interference (EMI) and compatibility (EMC)
-
MIL-STD-901 and MIL-STD-167 for shock and vibration, particularly in shipboard or mobile settings
Designed for deployment in combat vehicles, mobile radar units, command shelters, and electronic warfare systems, these HVAC units operate seamlessly under severe conditions—including extreme temperatures, high shock loads, continuous vibration, and electromagnetic exposure.
Key features include:
-
Wide ambient operating range: –40°F to 140°F
-
Configurable voltage, phase, and frequency to match military platforms
-
Corrosion-resistant coatings and finishes for harsh environments
-
EMI shielding and grounding for signal-sensitive platforms
Whether integrated into new system designs or retrofit applications, ECU’s Mil-Spec HVAC solutions ensure thermal stability and system survivability wherever duty calls.

At ECU Corporation, we specialize in the design and manufacturing of equipment rated “Safety Related” for nuclear power plants—meaning each system is qualified to operate before, during, and after Design Basis Events (DBEs) such as seismic activity, elevated temperatures and pressures, and high-radiation environments.
Our approach to nuclear projects reflects the rigor of military-grade configuration management, with robust controls over design, documentation, manufacturing, and testing. Our Quality Assurance Program includes formalized procedures that ensure compliance with all regulatory standards governing nuclear-grade systems and components.
ECU Corporation’s engineering team brings extensive experience across a wide range of applications for commercial nuclear power plants and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) facilities. Many of these systems are designed in accordance with ASME AG-1, Code on Nuclear Air and Gas Treatment, ensuring full alignment with industry expectations for performance, reliability, and safety under the most demanding conditions.
